Benefits of yoga
Every body is unique and whilst yoga is good for every body, attending a class can sometimes be a negative experience due to the lack of care and attention to your own unique physical and emotional challenges which can lead to discouragement or worse still injury caused by overstretching or trying to achieve challenging postures without first of all mastering the basics of the postures. Our level 2 qualified teachers will stretch you physically and mentally without fear of being pushed beyond your present limitations which can cause injury or exacerbate any existing problems. We will guide you safely on your yoga journey and you will be able to achieve more than you ever believed possible with patience, persistence and the correct guidance from our experienced teachers. We guarantee that you will feel re-energised and de-stressed by the end of each class.
We will guide you safely on your yoga journey and you will be able to achieve more than you ever believed possible with patience, persistence and the correct guidance from our experienced teachers.
The type of yoga we teach is called Purna Yoga which means integrated or complete. We teach not only the physical postures but also pranayama which is control of the breathing, and meditation which is control of the mind. The instruction of the postures is focused on correct alignment and being able to achieve the essence of the postures to the best of your ability so that you have a safe and enjoyable experience. We will also present you with on-going physical and mental challenges appropriate to your level of experience and ability. We use props such as blocks, belts and blankets to support people in the postures until they build up the strength and/or flexibility required. Our aim is to support and encourage you in your yoga journey. This year 2015, we have continued our workshop with Simon Oliver-Borg & others.
